Three Generations of Fishing
Our Story
For more than three generations, our family has made a living from the sea — from Croatia to the gulfs of South Australia.
A Family Built On The Sea
From one man’s love of the ocean
What began with a single fisherman is today a proud South Australian family business — still fishing the same waters, upholding the same standards, three generations on.
-
1960’s
Croatia to New South Wales
After moving from Croatia, Reno Martinovic began fishing in New South Wales, learning the trade that would define three generations.
-
1970’s
Pioneering Spencer Gulf
Reno moved to Port Lincoln, fishing Bluefin Tuna before becoming one of the pioneers of Spencer Gulf prawn fishing.
-
1980’s
Father & son, two gulfs
Reno’s son joined him aboard, then bought his own vessel and licence. Together they fished Spencer Gulf and added a vessel and two licences in Gulf St Vincent.
-
1989
Free Range Seafood opens
The family opened Free Range Seafood so customers, wholesalers and restaurants could buy their prawns direct from the fisherman.
-
Today
The third generation
Reno’s grandson proudly continues the tradition — bringing premium wild-caught Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent King Prawns from our vessels to seafood lovers across Australia.

Our Promise
From our vessels to your plate
We still fish the same waters, uphold the same standards, and pack every carton with the same care that Reno brought aboard more than fifty years ago. Every purchase supports a family tradition built on hard work and a genuine love of the sea.
Wild-Caught. Family-Owned. Factory Direct.
Our Fleet
The vessels behind every catch
Our family fishes Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent aboard three vessels — the FV Brianna Rene Adele, FV Frank Cori and FV Miss Jenny — grading and freezing our prawns at sea for unbeatable freshness.
